When Sophie and James asked us to build a pop-up bell tent village for their midsummer wedding at Outer Scarrabine Barn, we knew it was going to be special. We pitch glamping setups all over Cornwall, but pulling up to those sea-facing cliffs near Port Quin always makes us pause. With rocky coves, old mines and even ancient hill forts. The Setup: Canvas, Sea Breezes, and Sweeping Views
We arrived early on Thursday morning to get to work. The barn’s massive wooden sliding doors were already pushed wide open, framing the blue waters of Port Quin. Up on the grassy field just a short stroll from the barn, the breeze was crisp, and the view was just amazing.
Unrolling canvas on a cliffside takes a bit of coordination, but as each 5-meter bell tent went up, the field completely transformed. We spent the afternoon outfitting every tent with proper bed frames, real mattresses, crisp white linens, throws, and warm lanterns.
For the newlyweds, we created Sophie and James' honeymoon suite with Egyptian cotton bedding, rustic Afghan floor rugs, and a private seating space right outside so they could wake up, unzip the canvas, and look straight out over the sea.
By Friday afternoon, the guest arrivals started to trickle in. Because James and Sophie used our direct guest-booking system, everyone just dropped their overnight bags off, and headed straight down toward the barn for welcome drinks. No logistics stress for the couple, and absolute ease for their friends and family.

Sunday morning brought warm sun, sea air, and a field full of happy wedding guests.
Once everyone checked out, our team rolled back in to take everything down. By Sunday afternoon, the field was swept clean, leaving nothing behind—and two very happy newlyweds heading off into married life.
